ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. distributed the Real Property Tax (RPT) shares for the months of February to April 2025 to barangay leaders during a formal turnover held at the Mayor’s Office on May 27, 2025. The distribution highlights the city government’s commitment to empowering local governance through timely financial support.
Accompanying Mayor Lazatin was Angeles City’s Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) President Danilo Nacu, who also received the RPT share on behalf of Barangay Sta. Trinidad. The RPT funds are earmarked for essential barangay services and development projects aimed at improving community welfare.
A total of 26 barangay captains were present to personally receive their RPT checks. Among those in attendance were Barangay Captains Mauro Mallari (Agapito Del Rosario), Gerom Costales (Amsic), Augusto Flores (Anunas), and Joseph Ponce (Balibago), along with other heads of barangays across the city.
Also present were representatives from barangays where the captains were unavailable. Treasurers from Cuayan, San Jose, Lourdes Northwest, Lourdes Sur, Pulung Maragul, and Virgen Delos Remedios received the checks on behalf of their respective barangays.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the importance of properly utilizing the RPT shares for programs that directly benefit the people. “This financial assistance is part of our commitment to strengthen barangay governance and ensure that our communities have the resources to operate efficiently,” he said.
ABC President Nacu expressed gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for the continued support and timely release of funds. He noted that such regular disbursements are vital in enabling barangays to deliver basic services, particularly in public safety, sanitation, and infrastructure maintenance.
The quarterly distribution of RPT shares forms part of the city government’s consistent effort to ensure transparency, accountability, and equitable resource sharing among all 33 barangays of Angeles City.
