ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., alongside Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, personally recognized three young students from Angeles City who brought pride to the city by excelling in the 2025 National Festival of Talents held in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. The awarding ceremony took place on June 2, 2025, where each student was lauded for their outstanding achievements in various academic competitions.
Mayor Lazatin handed out certificates of recognition to Jabbar Hanapi, Ellieah Arquio, and Wajid Mobacar, celebrating their exemplary performance and dedication to their respective crafts. The mayor commended their hard work, saying their achievements reflect the potential and excellence of Angeles City’s youth.
Jabbar Hanapi, a student of Pampang Elementary School, emerged as the champion in the HARF Touch category under Musabaqah. His victory marked a significant milestone not only for his school but also for the city, which continues to promote inclusive and diverse talent development.
Ellieah Arquio of Sto. Rosario Elementary School earned 4th runner-up in the Read-a-thon English category. Her win highlighted the strong reading and comprehension skills being honed within the city’s public schools, a testament to Angeles City’s improving education programs.
Wajid Mobacar, also from Sto. Rosario Elementary School, was recognized as a national finalist in the Oration/Nasserah competition. His achievement demonstrated strong public speaking and critical thinking abilities, reinforcing the city’s commitment to holistic student development.
Also present during the awarding was EPD PSDS/Division MEP Focal Person Anastacia Nimfa Aquino, who expressed her pride and support for the students. She acknowledged the guidance of teachers and parents in helping the students reach the national stage and succeed.
Mayor Lazatin reiterated his administration’s unwavering support for education and youth empowerment. He encouraged all students across Angeles City to continue striving for excellence and assured that the city government will always recognize and support young talents who bring honor to their community.
