ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. officially administered the oath of office to Arnel Cabrera Lavarias as the new barangay kagawad of Sta. Teresita on June 9, 2025, during a simple ceremony held at Angeles City Hall.
Lavarias takes the position left vacant by the late Remegio Baloloy, who served the barangay with dedication and commitment until his passing. His appointment ensures the continuity of public service and leadership within the barangay council.
Present during the oath-taking were Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin Angeles and Barangay Sta. Teresita Chairman Joel Sanchez, who both expressed confidence in Lavarias’ capability to fulfill his new duties with integrity and dedication.
Also in attendance were fellow Barangay Kagawads Alvin Quito, Angel Chaneco, and Arnold Meneses, along with SK Chairman Arwin John Mercado and Barangay Treasurer Beverly Gania, showing their support for Lavarias as he formally joined the council.
Mayor Lazatin congratulated Lavarias and emphasized the importance of grassroots leadership, especially in addressing the day-to-day concerns of residents. He reminded all barangay officials of their crucial role in maintaining peace, order, and efficient public service in their communities.
Lavarias expressed his gratitude for the trust given to him, promising to serve Brgy. Sta. Teresita with fairness and commitment. He also paid tribute to the late Kagawad Baloloy, whom he described as a dedicated public servant and role model.
The oath-taking ceremony symbolizes the city government’s continuous effort to strengthen local governance by ensuring that all barangays are fully staffed and functioning effectively in serving their constituents.
