Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. officially began the large-scale distribution of free school supplies to public school students on June 16, 2025. The initiative started at Gov. Rafael L. Lazatin Integrated School, where students received essential items including shoes, socks, t-shirts, and backpacks filled with school supplies.
Joining Mayor Lazatin during the first day of distribution were members of the Angeles City Council, showing unified support for the city’s education-focused initiative. The mayor emphasized the importance of preparing students for the academic year with the tools they need to succeed.
This distribution drive is part of a city-wide effort that will reach all 55 public schools in Angeles City. A total of 93,000 students are set to benefit from the program. According to the schedule, Mayor Lazatin himself will oversee the delivery of the items to each school, demonstrating his commitment to accessible education.
The organized effort is being closely monitored by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel. Their leadership ensures the smooth flow of logistics and coordination during the entire campaign.
Also taking part in the initiative are the Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office, led by Irish Bonus-Llego, and personnel from the City Nutrition Office. Their assistance contributes to the efficient and orderly distribution of supplies across schools.
Mayor Lazatin reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to equitable education, stating that no Angeleño youth should be left behind. The provision of free school essentials helps relieve financial burdens on families and encourages students to remain in school.
Through this education support program, Angeles City underscores its priority on youth development and academic opportunity. The mayor’s efforts continue to bridge gaps in access to quality education and ensure a brighter future for public school students.
