ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. continued his commitment to supporting local education on June 18, 2025, by personally leading the distribution of free school supplies and uniforms to students at Leoncia Village Elementary School.
Each student received a full package that included shoes, socks, t-shirts, bags, and various school supplies. The initiative is part of Mayor Lazatin’s citywide program to equip public school learners with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.
This activity is part of a larger citywide effort to distribute around 93,000 sets of school items to students in all 55 public schools across Angeles City. The mayor himself will visit each school to ensure the proper and complete delivery of these educational supplies.
Helping oversee the distribution are Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, together with the Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office led by Irish Bonus-Llego. Members of the City Nutrition Office were also present to assist with the logistics of the event.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized that education remains a cornerstone of his administration’s agenda. “No Angeleño youth will be left behind in terms of education,” he said, noting that financial hardships should never hinder a child’s right to learn.
Parents and teachers at Leoncia Village Elementary School welcomed the assistance, saying it greatly eases the burden of school-related expenses, especially for low-income families. Students expressed excitement and gratitude upon receiving the items.
As his term nears its conclusion, Mayor Lazatin continues to uphold his promise to make education more accessible and inclusive for every Angeleño child — a legacy he has firmly built through sustained support programs for the city’s youth.
