The League of Angeles City Entertainers and Managers (LACEM) recently paid a courtesy visit to Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II. The meeting was held in the conference room of the mayor’s office, where both parties discussed matters concerning the city’s renowned entertainment district, Fields Avenue.
Mayor Lazatin warmly welcomed the group and took the opportunity to share his administration’s plans for Fields Avenue. He conveyed his strong commitment to revitalizing the area, aiming to create a more wholesome, safe, and organized environment for both tourists and local residents. He emphasized the need for positive change that still respects the district’s role in the city’s culture and economy.
One of the key highlights of Mayor Lazatin’s vision is enhancing public safety. He noted the importance of ensuring that emergency vehicles, such as firetrucks, ambulances, and medical transport units, can easily navigate the area. To achieve this, the city government is preparing to rehabilitate the road and surrounding infrastructure to improve accessibility, especially during urgent situations.
The mayor also pointed out a long-standing concern in the area: the tangled web of exposed wires and cables. He expressed his intention to remove these so-called “spaghetti wires,” which pose not only a safety hazard but also contribute to the unkempt appearance of the district. Clearing these out would significantly improve both the visual appeal and safety of Fields Avenue.
Lazatin reassured LACEM members that their voices matter in the city’s progress. He acknowledged the role of entertainers and venue managers in maintaining the district’s vibrancy and livelihood. The local government, he added, is open to working closely with them as stakeholders in the implementation of development plans.
For their part, LACEM expressed appreciation for Mayor Lazatin’s transparency and inclusive approach. They pledged their support for the city’s efforts to uplift the entertainment zone while ensuring it remains a dynamic yet responsible part of Angeles City’s tourism identity.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to collaboration between LACEM and the city government. Mayor Lazatin emphasized that improvements to Fields Avenue are not only for beautification but are steps toward a safer, more accessible, and more respectable environment for everyone.
