Angeles City — The local government unit (LGU) of Angeles City, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, warmly welcomed Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 3 Director Dr. Richard Daenos during a courtesy visit to the Mayor’s Office. The visit further strengthened ties between the national tourism agency and the city in promoting culinary tourism and development.
Dr. Daenos expressed his appreciation to the city government for its unwavering support of the DOT’s initiatives, particularly its campaign to position Angeles City as Asia’s Best Culinary City Destination. This nomination is part of the prestigious World Culinary Awards, a global event that recognizes excellence in the culinary and gastronomy sectors.
Mayor Lazatin, along with Angeles City Tourism Officer Louie Lazatin, welcomed Dr. Daenos with enthusiasm and pledged continued collaboration in the promotion of the city’s rich culinary heritage. The mayor highlighted the importance of preserving traditional Kapampangan recipes while also supporting innovation among local chefs and food businesses.
