A delegation from Italian-Thai Development Public Co. Limited, the main contractor of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) North-South Commuter Railway Extension (NSCR-EX) project, paid a courtesy visit to Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II. The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination between the local government and the project developers as construction progresses through the city.
Representing the company were Roxanne Santos, Public Relations Manager; Miriam Tongol, Community Development Officer; and Lanz Caguioa, a Registered Social Worker. The delegation expressed their appreciation to the city government for its continued support and cooperation in facilitating smooth project implementation.
Key discussions during the visit centered on updates regarding ongoing construction activities and the scope of the NSCR-EX railway project as it affects Angeles City. The delegation assured the mayor that the company remains committed to minimizing disruptions and ensuring safety and accessibility for the communities involved.
Mayor Lazatin welcomed the delegation warmly and emphasized the importance of keeping the local government and affected residents well-informed. He reiterated the city’s readiness to collaborate and coordinate to address concerns and provide solutions, especially in high-impact zones of the railway project.
Beyond infrastructure, the meeting also explored potential partnerships on social development programs that could benefit communities impacted by the railway construction. These initiatives aim to provide support, livelihood opportunities, and sustainable assistance for residents during and after the project.
The Italian-Thai Development team presented ideas for community engagement, emphasizing their intention to leave a positive impact beyond the railway.
