Angeles City, Pampanga — As the rainy season continues to bring unpredictable weather, the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) has ramped up efforts to ensure public safety. With the aim of protecting every Angeleño, the agency has placed its Rescue Mobility assets on full standby, ready to respond to emergencies at a moment’s notice.
These rescue assets include ambulances, mobile command units, and emergency response vehicles stationed across strategic points in the city. The deployment is part of the city’s proactive disaster preparedness and response initiative, especially during periods of inclement weather and possible flooding.
ACDRRMO emphasized that its personnel undergo regular training and refresher courses to remain physically and mentally prepared for any situation. This includes simulations for flood rescue, first aid, and rapid evacuation procedures. Their goal is to deliver timely, efficient, and coordinated responses during critical times.
In addition to emergency response, the office is also working to raise public awareness. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official advisories and to cooperate with authorities during emergencies. The city government continues to remind everyone to prepare emergency kits and have contingency plans at home.
City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has expressed full support for ACDRRMO’s operations. “Our commitment is to serve and protect every Angeleño. We will continue to invest in training, equipment, and strategies to make Angeles City more resilient,” he stated.
The city government has also collaborated with barangay-level officials and volunteers to ensure faster response time. Localized disaster response teams have been activated to provide immediate assistance and coordinate with central command when emergencies arise.
As rains persist in Central Luzon, ACDRRMO urges citizens to remain alert, follow weather updates, and report incidents promptly. The city’s unified efforts aim to strengthen disaster response capabilities and reduce the risk to life and property, reinforcing the core mission: to serve every Angeleño with dedication and preparedness.
