Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II warmly received Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 3 Regional Director Arceli San Jose in a courtesy visit held earlier today. The visit highlighted continued collaboration between the local government of Angeles City and the DILG in upholding good governance and effective public service in Central Luzon.
Director San Jose was accompanied by DILG-Angeles City Director Yvette Cosio, further emphasizing the importance of local-national government partnerships. The visit served as a platform to strengthen coordination on key programs, projects, and initiatives being implemented in Angeles City under DILG supervision and guidance.
During the meeting, Mayor Lazatin expressed his gratitude for the consistent support provided by the DILG, especially in the areas of disaster preparedness, peace and order, and local governance capacity-building. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and delivering efficient public service to all Angeleños.
Director San Jose, in turn, commended Mayor Lazatin and the Angeles City Government for their active compliance with DILG mandates and their strong performance in implementing national directives at the local level. She highlighted the city’s role as one of the leading LGUs in Region 3 in terms of innovation and responsiveness.
The courtesy visit also provided an opportunity to discuss upcoming national and regional programs that will involve LGUs. These include capacity-building trainings, governance audits, and expanded support for barangay development programs. Both parties expressed eagerness to further align local strategies with national development goals.
Mayor Lazatin assured the DILG officials that Angeles City will continue to be a model of good governance, transparency, and service-oriented leadership. He also emphasized that the city will maintain close collaboration with DILG for more efficient policy execution and program delivery.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both the DILG and the Angeles City LGU reaffirming their shared mission of creating inclusive, resilient, and well-governed communities.
