ANGELES CITY — The Hotels and Restaurants Association in Pampanga (HARP) paid a courtesy visit to Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin Jr. at the city hall, reaffirming their continued partnership and commitment to enhancing the city’s tourism and hospitality industries.
Led by HARP President Michelle Victoria, the delegation expressed their appreciation for the city government’s efforts to support local businesses and promote Angeles City as a prime destination for both local and international tourists. The group highlighted ongoing collaborations with the city and offered new initiatives to boost tourism-related activities.
Mayor Lazatin warmly welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of strong public-private partnerships in driving economic growth, especially in sectors like tourism and hospitality. He commended HARP for its proactive role in uplifting local establishments and promoting Pampanga’s cultural and culinary heritage.
During the meeting, HARP shared insights on current trends and challenges faced by the hospitality industry, including post-pandemic recovery efforts and competition in Central Luzon. They discussed potential strategies to attract more visitors, such as promoting food tourism, organizing local festivals, and enhancing digital marketing for hotels and restaurants.
Mayor Lazatin expressed full support for these initiatives and instructed relevant city departments to coordinate closely with HARP for future projects. He reaffirmed the city’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment that encourages tourism growth and sustainable development.
The city government and HARP agreed to strengthen collaboration through training programs, promotional campaigns, and events aimed at showcasing Angeles City’s unique offerings. Both parties also explored the possibility of forming a tourism council involving key stakeholders from the private sector.
As Angeles City continues to recover from the economic impact of the pandemic, the partnership between the local government and HARP is seen as a vital step toward revitalizing the tourism industry and positioning the city as a top destination in the Philippines.
