ANGELES CITY — In a continuous effort to strengthen public safety and police preparedness, the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) conducted a firearms proficiency drill for 200 of its personnel, reinforcing both tactical capability and discipline in weapon handling.
The activity involved a structured, three-phase modified handgun marksmanship training, covering essential components such as proper weapon handling, safety protocols, malfunction clearing, and standardized qualification tests using service pistols and carbines.
ACPO leadership emphasized that the drill was designed not only to maintain the officers’ combat readiness but also to ensure strict compliance with safety standards. The exercise aims to build confidence in firearms use, minimize risks during actual operations, and enhance operational efficiency.
Aside from technical training, ACPO has also ramped up the physical presence of its personnel in key locations across Angeles City. Officers were strategically deployed to major roads, commercial districts, public transport terminals, and vital installations to deter criminal activity and provide a stronger sense of security to the public.
This two-pronged strategy—sharpening on-ground skills and heightening police visibility—is part of a broader safety and crime prevention plan being implemented under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II and local police officials.
Residents have praised the increased patrol visibility and swift police response, noting the improved sense of security in various neighborhoods. ACPO assured the public that law enforcement remains vigilant and ready to respond to any threats or incidents swiftly and professionally.
With continuous training and strategic deployment, the Angeles City Police Office reaffirms its commitment to protecting Angeleños through a proactive, disciplined, and well-equipped police force dedicated to upholding peace and order in the city.
