ANGELES CITY – The 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod, along with its office personnel and staff from other government agencies, recently took part in a seminar led by the Department of Tourism (DOT) on the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE). The event was held at the Angeles City Library and aimed to promote high standards of public service anchored in core Filipino values.
This initiative is part of DOT’s nationwide campaign to enhance the quality of government service through training that emphasizes values such as Maka-Diyos (God-loving), Maka-Tao (people-oriented), Makabayan (nationalistic), and Makakalikasan (environmentally conscious). The seminar is designed to integrate these principles into daily public service delivery.
Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod and various employees were given practical tools and frameworks during the session to improve their service interactions, communication, and overall performance in government offices. The program encourages a proactive and compassionate approach when dealing with the public.
According to the DOT facilitators, the FBSE seminar is not only meant to elevate customer service skills but also to reignite the sense of duty and pride among public servants. The ultimate goal is to ensure that every interaction with a government office reflects the warmth and hospitality that Filipinos are known for.
City officials expressed gratitude for the training and emphasized their commitment to applying the lessons learned to their respective roles. They believe that embracing the FBSE will boost public trust and satisfaction in local government services.
The Angeles City government continues to prioritize capacity-building initiatives for its workforce, recognizing that improving the quality of public service requires both technical competence and values-based leadership. The FBSE aligns with the city’s broader goal of creating a more responsive, efficient, and citizen-centered governance.
With the successful completion of the seminar, participants are now seen as frontliners of a renewed public service culture — one that places genuine care, professionalism, and Filipino excellence at its core.
