Angeles City, Pampanga — The Angeles City Government continues its aggressive clearing operations aimed at removing and organizing hazardous “spaghetti wires” across the city’s main roads.
Spearheaded by Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin, Jr., the initiative is carried out by the Angeles City Traffic Development Office (ACTDO) and the City Engineer’s Office, in close coordination with the Angeles Electric Corporation and major telecommunications companies such as Smart-PLDT, Globe, DITO, and Converge.
Recently, the clearing team conducted operations along Angeles-Magalang Road, where tangled and hanging wires were cleaned up and repositioned to ensure both safety and visual order on the city’s streets.
According to ACTDO officials, this ongoing effort is part of a broader citywide program to improve public safety, cleanliness, and infrastructure management. “It’s not just for aesthetics — this is about protecting lives and preventing accidents,” a spokesperson from ACTDO said.
The clearing operations are also being carried out in close cooperation with telco providers to ensure minimal disruption to internet and communication services while repairs and cable realignments are underway.
Residents and motorists have expressed appreciation for the project, noting that the removal of dangling wires reduces risks and enhances the overall appearance of city roads. Many say this kind of action has been long overdue.
The city government is calling on the continued support of the public and private stakeholders as it expands the operations to other areas of Angeles City. With sustained efforts, local leaders hope to make the city’s streets safer, more organized, and visually cleaner for everyone.
