CLARK FREEPORT ZONE — The One Pampanga Food and Beverages Expo officially kicked off on September 13 at SMX Clark, drawing food lovers and culinary industry stakeholders from across the region. The event celebrates the depth and diversity of Kapampangan cuisine — long considered one of the finest in the Philippines.
Mayor Jon Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II graced the opening ceremony and delivered a heartfelt message of support. He emphasized the importance of preserving Pampanga’s culinary traditions while embracing innovation, highlighting the event as a platform that bridges both heritage and modern creativity in food.
In his speech, Mayor Jon also expressed gratitude to the organizers for gathering the province’s top culinary minds and entrepreneurs in one venue. He shared his vision of promoting not only Angeles City but the entire province as a hub for culinary tourism and sustainable local enterprise.
The expo boasts a wide range of food and beverage exhibits, from time-honored Kapampangan dishes like sisig, bringhe, and tamales to new-generation fusion cuisine. Visitors are treated to live cooking demos, product sampling, and the chance to discover locally made gourmet products and drinks.
Local businesses — from homegrown restaurants to artisanal producers and agribusinesses — proudly displayed their offerings, giving attendees a true taste of Pampanga’s renowned culinary identity. The event aims to boost local economies by supporting small-scale food producers and showcasing them to a wider market.
Mayor Lazatin noted that the food expo plays a vital role in promoting cultural pride and economic opportunity. By spotlighting the talents of local chefs and entrepreneurs, he believes such initiatives can empower communities and strengthen the province’s reputation as the country’s culinary capital.
The One Pampanga Food and Beverages Expo will run for several days, with thousands expected to attend. As the region’s largest food expo, it serves not just as a feast for the senses but as a testament to Pampanga’s enduring influence on the nation’s culinary landscape.
