ANGELES CITY — Right after the Monday flag-raising ceremony, Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II and members of the 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod wasted no time in rolling up their sleeves, beginning the week with a productive session focused on various issues and development plans for Angeles City.
The early meeting served as a platform for aligning executive and legislative priorities, ensuring that city governance remains proactive and responsive to the needs of Angeleños. Mayor Lazatin, known for his hands-on leadership style, highlighted the importance of consistency and teamwork in local governance.
Among the key topics tackled were ongoing infrastructure projects, social welfare programs, budget allocation, and public safety strategies. The discussion also included updates on recent initiatives launched by both the executive and legislative branches of the city government.
The 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod, led by Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, presented legislative concerns that need coordination with the executive arm for smoother implementation. Councilors voiced their support for stronger collaboration to speed up the city’s recovery and development efforts.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized transparency and accountability, urging city officials to maintain open lines of communication and uphold public service above politics. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to good governance anchored in efficiency and public trust.
Councilors also raised various barangay-level issues needing immediate attention — such as waste management, traffic congestion, and local employment — which the mayor acknowledged and committed to address through coordinated actions with the concerned departments.
By initiating the week with a unified agenda, Mayor Jon Lazatin and the 20th City Council reaffirmed their dedication to serving Angeles City with urgency and purpose. The early session reflected their shared goal of ensuring that local policies and programs create real, lasting impact for all Angeleños.
