Balibago, Angeles City — The Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, recently initiated a strategic dialogue with foreign investors operating in the city’s entertainment district. The meeting focused on promoting safe tourism, boosting investor confidence, and upholding the principles of good governance.
Held in Barangay Balibago, the dialogue brought together various government offices and agencies, including the City Tourism Office, Business Permit and Licensing Division, City Health and Sanitation, City Legal Office, PDEA, and the Angeles City Police Office. The gathering aimed to address concerns surrounding business compliance, safety protocols, and community welfare.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the city’s goal of creating a clean, safe, and investor-friendly environment that benefits both locals and international stakeholders. He assured participants of the LGU’s continued efforts to uphold transparency, streamline services, and enforce laws that protect workers and visitors alike.
One of the key topics discussed was strict compliance with labor and employment standards. City officials highlighted the need to prohibit minors from being involved in business operations and reinforced the importance of fair labor practices in all establishments, particularly in the entertainment and hospitality industries.
Sanitation and hygiene were also placed at the forefront of the conversation. The City Health Office detailed initiatives such as frequent inspections, mandatory health compliance, and improved sanitation protocols aimed at maintaining visitor confidence and protecting public health in high-traffic commercial zones.
Anti-crime measures, including anti-illegal drugs, anti-gambling, and anti-corruption campaigns, were reiterated by the LGU and law enforcement partners. These initiatives are part of the city’s broader strategy to maintain public safety and safeguard Angeles City’s growing reputation as a responsible tourism and investment hub.
As a result of the productive dialogue, the city and foreign investors agreed to maintain open communication channels and schedule regular briefings. The partnership aims to promote continuous compliance, encourage responsible tourism, and ensure Angeles City remains a top-tier destination for ethical business and tourism development.
