Anunas, Angeles City — In response to the heavy rains that impacted several communities, the Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, quickly mobilized relief operations to aid residents in affected barangays. The coordinated response was led by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), which distributed essential goods to families in need.
Two barangays—Margot and Anunas—received immediate assistance. On October 11, 2025, CSWDO teams delivered food and non-food packs to affected residents. In Barangay Margot, 40 individuals benefited from eight food and eight non-food packs, ensuring that basic needs were met despite the disruption caused by the weather.
The following operation in Barangay Anunas extended support to 14 residents, who received three food packs and three non-food packs. The non-food packs included hygiene kits, blankets, and other necessities aimed at helping families stay safe and comfortable during temporary displacements or power outages.
CSWDO, in collaboration with local barangay officials and volunteers, worked efficiently to assess on-ground conditions and reach the most vulnerable households. Relief operations were carefully managed to prevent disruption of local recovery efforts while ensuring all urgent needs were addressed.
Residents praised the LGU’s rapid response, noting that the early arrival of aid helped ease the impact of the sudden weather event. Clear communication and organized distribution were also highlighted as key factors in the operation’s success.
Mayor Lazatin reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to emergency preparedness and community welfare. He emphasized the importance of swift and coordinated responses during disasters, as well as the continued prioritization of social services for all Angeleños.
For ongoing concerns and future emergencies, the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) and CSWDO continue to operate 24/7. These offices remain ready to deploy assistance, provide shelter information, and share advisories to keep residents safe and informed.
