On October 22, 2025, students from City College of Angeles, Jocson College, and Angeles University Foundation joined an engaging Heritage Tour as part of Fiestang Kuliat 2025, immersing themselves in the rich history and culture of Angeles City. The event combined education, tradition, and hands-on experiences for an unforgettable learning adventure.
The tour was led by Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II through the City Tourism Office, highlighting the city government’s commitment to promoting cultural appreciation among the youth. Students had the opportunity to learn about Angeles City’s historical and cultural roots while exploring its iconic landmarks.
Participants visited the Old Pamintuan Mansion, the City Library, Museo Ning Angeles, and the Santo Rosario Church (Pisamban Maragul). Each stop offered insights into the city’s past, from its architectural heritage to its role in local history, providing students with a deeper understanding of their community.
In addition to historical exploration, the tour included a hands-on culinary workshop at the Museo Ning Angeles Culinarium, where students prepared putong babi, a traditional Kapampángan delicacy. This interactive activity allowed participants to experience local traditions through food, blending cultural learning with practical skills.
Mayor Lazatin expressed his enthusiasm for the program, emphasizing that events like the Heritage Tour help instill pride in Angeles City’s culture and heritage. He encouraged students to carry forward their knowledge of local history and traditions to future generations.
