Angeles City — As part of its proactive public safety measures, Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II has directed key city departments to intensify preparations for the upcoming Undas 2025 observance. The initiative aims to ensure safety, orderliness, and smooth traffic flow as thousands of residents and visitors are expected to visit cemeteries across the city during All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.
The Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) will implement “Oplan Kaluluwa”, setting up emergency response and medical assistance stations in major cemeteries including La Pieta Memorial Park, Holy Mary Memorial Park, Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Sapangbato Cemetery, and the city’s public cemetery in Sapalibutad. These stations will provide first aid, emergency response, and hydration points for the public.
In addition to stationary emergency posts, the ACDRRMO will deploy roving medical teams starting October 31 until November 2, ensuring quick response to any medical incidents. The mobile units will be strategically positioned near high-traffic areas to guarantee that visitors and commuters can receive assistance promptly.
Meanwhile, the Angeles City Traffic and Development Office (ACTDO) is preparing a comprehensive traffic rerouting plan to manage the anticipated increase in vehicular movement around cemeteries. The detailed rerouting scheme will be published on the City Information Office Facebook page ahead of the observance to guide motorists and commuters effectively.
The Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) has also been instructed to augment its forces during the Undas period. Police officers will be deployed in cemeteries, transport terminals, and major roads to maintain peace and order, assist visitors, and ensure the overall security of the public.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the importance of coordination among city departments to guarantee a safe, peaceful, and organized observance. “We want every Angeleño and visitor to feel secure and cared for during Undas. Preparedness and teamwork are key in maintaining public safety and order throughout the period,” he said.
Through these coordinated efforts, the Angeles City Government reaffirms its dedication to protecting lives, ensuring smooth public movement, and upholding peace and order during Undas 2025. The initiative demonstrates the city’s ongoing commitment to responsive governance and proactive disaster preparedness for the safety and convenience of all.
