Robinsons Balibago came alive with energy, excitement, and creativity as the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), through its Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Unit, hosted a festive celebration in honor of National Children’s Month 2025. The event, held under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, brought together young Angeleños for a day of learning, fun, and self-expression.
This year’s national theme, “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”, guided the celebration’s activities and advocacy efforts. The theme highlights the city’s commitment to promoting programs centered on children’s survival, development, protection, and participation—ensuring that every child’s rights are recognized and upheld.
Children from various daycare centers across the city eagerly participated in numerous competitions designed to ignite imagination and confidence. The Parada ng Pangarap Contest allowed kids to dress up as their dream professions—from teachers and police officers to seafarers, flight attendants, nuns, and priests—letting them proudly showcase their aspirations.
The creative spirit continued with the Copy and Color Contest, where young participants displayed their artistic talents through colorful illustrations. Meanwhile, the Solo Singing and Poem Reciting Contests gave children the platform to share their voices and express themselves with confidence, delighting the audience with heartfelt performances.
Another crowd favorite was the Cheerdance Contest, which brought bursts of energy and teamwork to the stage. Participants danced with enthusiasm, showcasing coordination, rhythm, and camaraderie as they celebrated their abilities and friendships formed through the ECCD program.
City officials emphasized that activities like these play a vital role in fostering a supportive and enriching environment for children. By nurturing creativity and confidence, the ECCD Unit helps ensure that the city’s youngest learners are given opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed.
Mayor Jon Lazatin reaffirmed the city’s dedication to building a safe and nurturing community for all children. He stressed that every young Angeleño deserves the chance to dream and thrive, and the local government will continue championing programs that protect, empower, and uplift the youth.
