Angeles City — Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II led the city’s 4th Quarter Joint Peace and Order Council (CPOC) meeting on November 24, 2025, held at the Angeles City Command Center in Brgy. Pulung Maragul. The session included representatives from the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO), Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ACADAC), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (CTF-ELCAC). Vice Mayor Amos B. Rivera also attended to support ongoing initiatives in public safety and community resilience.
The meeting aimed to review and assess the current Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) situation across the city, while also evaluating anti-illegal drug programs, ELCAC accomplishments, and strategies to enhance inter-agency coordination. City officials and partner agencies shared updates on ongoing initiatives designed to maintain law and order.
Departments and offices provided detailed reports on recent accomplishments, including operational updates and community programs. Presentations highlighted crime prevention efforts, peacekeeping activities, and other local initiatives that help ensure a secure and stable environment for residents.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the importance of data-driven and coordinated strategies in addressing peace and order challenges. He recognized the efforts of all participating agencies, noting that effective collaboration remains crucial to sustaining public safety and protecting the community.
The council also discussed strategies to strengthen anti-drug initiatives and community engagement programs. Updates from ACADAC and BJMP showcased preventive measures, rehabilitation efforts, and the city’s ongoing commitment to reducing the impact of illegal substances in local neighborhoods.
CTF-ELCAC representatives shared progress on programs aimed at countering insurgency and promoting peace in vulnerable areas. The coordinated effort ensures that national and local policies are effectively implemented at the community level, reinforcing the city’s holistic approach to public safety.
Mayor Lazatin concluded by expressing appreciation for the continuous support and cooperation of all agencies.
