Angeles City marked a milestone in its public safety efforts with the inauguration and blessing of its first Philippine National Police (PNP)-funded Standard Police Station Building on November 26, 2025. The newly built facility, located along APO Road in Barangay Sto. Domingo, will now serve as the modern headquarters of Police Station 1.
The ceremony brought together top officials of the PNP led by PBGEN Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., Regional Director of PRO3, along with Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) personnel, local officials, and community representatives. Their attendance underscored the collective support behind advancing police services and enhancing security measures in the city.
Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II expressed deep appreciation to PNP leadership for funding the project, emphasizing its importance in elevating the city’s safety infrastructure. He described the new building as a tangible symbol of Angeles City’s dedication to protecting residents, workers, students, and visitors.
Although the city has consistently demonstrated strong response performance in recent years, Mayor Lazatin stressed that efforts to improve must continue. He remarked that public service has “no finish line,” only continuous opportunities to strengthen safety and service delivery.
During his message, the mayor also revealed upcoming initiatives that will boost citywide security operations. Among these is the deployment of compact command centers in each police station, designed to enhance monitoring, coordination, and crime prevention through modern technology and real-time communication.
Mayor Lazatin highlighted the unique challenges faced by a highly urbanized center like Angeles City. He noted that strategic planning, smart investments, and the commitment of the PNP are key to maintaining peace and order amid the city’s rapid growth and dynamic communities.
ACPO City Director PCOL Joselito E. Villarosa Jr. expressed gratitude to the local government and partner agencies for their unwavering support. He said the establishment of the new Police Station 1 signifies a strengthened partnership between the Angeles City Government and the PNP, reinforcing their shared mission to build a safer and more secure environment for all Angeleños.
