The Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, recently launched Pamanang Lakad, a heritage-themed bazaar aimed at promoting the city’s rich history and vibrant local culture. This initiative highlights Angeles City’s commitment to preserving its traditions while supporting local enterprises.
Held at the city’s central area, the bazaar attracted both residents and visitors, offering a lively marketplace where local crafts, traditional foods, and cultural displays were showcased. The event provided a platform for artisans and small business owners to present their products, encouraging community support for homegrown talent.
Through Pamanang Lakad, the city emphasized the importance of celebrating Kapampángan heritage. Visitors experienced a unique blend of history and artistry, allowing them to connect with the stories and customs that define Angeles City’s identity.
Cultural performances added an immersive touch to the event. The Kwerdas Angeleño Rondalla from the City College of Angeles played traditional music, creating a festive atmosphere that complemented the colorful stalls and heritage exhibits.
Mayor Lazatin highlighted that initiatives like this go beyond commerce. “Programs such as Pamanang Lakad allow residents to reconnect with their roots, strengthen community bonds, and take pride in the city’s cultural legacy,” he remarked during the opening.
The bazaar also served as a platform for nurturing local entrepreneurship. By supporting artisans and small businesses, the city aims to sustain livelihoods while promoting a deeper appreciation for homegrown creativity and heritage.
Looking ahead, the City Government plans to continue creating events that combine culture, commerce, and community engagement. Through these efforts, Angeles City ensures that its rich history and traditions are celebrated and passed on to future generations.
