Angeles City has intensified its safety campaign for the Christmas season as Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II reaffirmed the local government’s support for the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Central Luzon – Pampanga in launching Oplan Paalala: Iwas Paputok. This initiative highlights the city’s commitment to safeguarding residents from fire-related incidents commonly associated with holiday celebrations.
The Angeles City Fire Station, led by City Fire Marshal FSUPT Bernard P. Dizon, spearheaded a motorcade and community outreach efforts to raise awareness on safe holiday practices. Flyers were distributed to inform families about the risks of firecrackers and how to prevent accidents as the festivities begin.
These activities concluded during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, where officials emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring a safer Yuletide season. Authorities reminded the public that simple preventive measures can greatly reduce the dangers of fireworks-related injuries.
Through Oplan Paalala, the city government and BFP aim to strengthen public vigilance and promote a culture of safety in every barangay. The program also encourages communities to explore alternative, non-hazardous ways to celebrate the holidays.
Mayor Lazatin stressed that keeping residents safe remains a top priority, especially during the festive months. He urged Angeleños to make wise choices and to prioritize their well-being while enjoying the season’s celebrations.
The Angeles City LGU also expressed gratitude to partner agencies, civic groups, and various stakeholders for supporting efforts to maintain peace and safety throughout the city. Their cooperation, officials noted, plays a crucial role in preventing accidents and protecting the community.
As the holiday spirit intensifies, the local government reminds everyone to stay alert, stay safe, and celebrate responsibly—para sa Ligtas Angeleño!
