Angeles City, November 3, 2025 – Under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, Angeles City convened its nutrition committee members for a participatory workshop on the formulation of the City Nutrition Action Plan (CNAP) 2026–2028. The session focused on updating strategies, reviewing accomplishments, and aligning local nutrition priorities with national goals.
The workshop brought together city nutrition staff and community stakeholders to assess local nutrition challenges, identify needs, and ensure efforts are coordinated with the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN). This collaborative approach aims to enhance program effectiveness and impact across the city.
During the session, participants reviewed previous CNAP accomplishments and key lessons learned. The team analyzed past initiatives to understand successes and areas for improvement, setting the foundation for a more responsive and data-driven plan for 2026–2028.
A major focus of the workshop was shaping an updated vision, mission, and actionable targets. The CNAP draft was validated by participants, ensuring it reflects community priorities while meeting national nutrition objectives.
The updated plan emphasizes key areas including child nutrition, maternal health, obesity prevention, and food security. By targeting these priorities, the city aims to promote healthier lifestyles and ensure access to nutritious food for all residents.
Mayor Lazatin highlighted the importance of a coordinated and evidence-based approach. “With clear goals and strengthened action plans, we are committed to improving the nutrition and well-being of every Angeleño,” he said.
Through this workshop, Angeles City strengthens its commitment to advancing public health, creating programs that respond to local needs, and fostering collaboration between government units and community groups. The CNAP 2026–2028 sets a roadmap for a healthier, more nourished city.
