The Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO), under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin Jr., has intensified its disaster preparedness measures to safeguard residents against potential emergencies and natural calamities. This initiative reflects the city government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all Angeleños.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized that preparedness remains the key to minimizing the impact of disasters. Through close coordination with barangay officials, rescue teams, and emergency responders, the ACDRRMO continues to strengthen its disaster response capabilities to guarantee quick and effective action during critical situations.
As part of the city’s readiness program, emergency units and response vehicles are now on full standby to respond to any untoward incident. Rescue equipment and medical supplies have also been inspected and maintained to ensure operational efficiency when needed.
The ACDRRMO’s proactive approach includes regular training, simulation exercises, and information drives to enhance community awareness. These efforts aim to equip residents with the knowledge and preparedness needed to respond properly during emergencies such as floods, landslides, and earthquakes.
Mayor Lazatin also directed the city’s emergency teams to remain vigilant, especially during unpredictable weather conditions. He stressed the importance of coordination among local agencies to guarantee that all response mechanisms are working efficiently and resources are ready for deployment.
Furthermore, the city government continues to collaborate with national agencies and private organizations to enhance its disaster resilience strategies. These partnerships contribute to improving early warning systems, evacuation planning, and post-disaster recovery programs.
“The safety and security of our people will always be our top priority,” Mayor Lazatin stated. “Through preparedness, cooperation, and vigilance, we can protect every Angeleño and build a more resilient Angeles City.”
