Angeles City reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the well-being of its elderly population as the City Health Office, together with the Anunas Puso Care Facility medical team, conducted a comprehensive health activity for senior citizens in Barangay Anunas. The initiative aimed to improve access to essential health services and strengthen preventive care for older residents.
The activity featured educational lectures covering hypertension, diabetes, and proper oral hygiene—conditions that commonly affect senior citizens. These discussions were designed to equip participants with practical knowledge for managing their health and preventing complications.
Free medical consultations were also made available during the program, giving seniors the opportunity to receive timely medical advice and assessment from healthcare professionals. This effort underscores the city’s objective to deliver accessible and community-based health services.
In addition, Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing was provided to help detect early signs of diabetes and encourage seniors to regularly monitor their blood sugar levels. Early detection remains a crucial factor in preventing severe health issues among the elderly.
The City Health Office also administered the Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) to protect participants from serious infections such as pneumonia, which poses significant risks to older adults. The vaccination drive demonstrated the LGU’s proactive approach to disease prevention.
City officials highlighted that these initiatives reflect the local government’s broader mission to ensure that every senior citizen receives adequate health support. They emphasized the importance of consistent medical monitoring and accessible programs within the barangays.
The Angeles City LGU expressed its commitment to continuing similar healthcare activities across more communities, reinforcing its dedication to safeguarding the health, dignity, and quality of life of its senior citizens.
