ANGELES CITY — The city of Angeles marked a significant milestone in public healthcare with the inauguration of its 13th Puso Center Primary Care Facility in Barangay Amsic on May 22, 2025. Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. led the opening ceremonies, joined by Councilors Atty. Arvin Suller and Niknok Bañola, ABC President Danilo Nacu, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, and Barangay Captain Gerom Costales.
The new health center is part of Mayor Lazatin’s ongoing commitment to bring accessible and quality medical services closer to the people. Just days earlier, a similar facility was launched in Barangay Anunas, with additional centers planned soon in Barangays Capaya and Balibago.
Speaking during the event, Mayor Lazatin pledged to continue expanding health infrastructure before his term ends. “Before I step down as mayor, we will fulfill our promise to open more health facilities for our fellow citizens,” he said, underscoring his dedication to public health.
Since 2023, the city government has initiated the construction of nine new primary care facilities across Angeles City, aiming to meet the ideal health service-to-population ratio and provide timely medical assistance in every barangay.
The Puso Centers offer a wide range of primary care services, including consultation, dental care, laboratory testing, and on-site pharmacies stocked with essential medicines to ensure comprehensive healthcare for residents.
The inauguration was also attended by city government department heads and chiefs-of-offices, reflecting strong local government support for the health initiative and underscoring a collaborative approach to improving community well-being.
With these continuous efforts, Angeles City is setting a strong example of prioritizing health and wellness, ensuring that no resident is left behind when it comes to access to quality medical care.
