Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. commended the exceptional performance of local student-athletes during the Central Luzon Regional Athletics Association (CLRAA) meet, awarding them certificates of recognition on June 5, 2025. The awarding ceremony took place at the Mayor’s Office, where 55 student-athletes personally received their honors.
The student-athletes were warmly welcomed by Mayor Lazatin, who expressed his gratitude and admiration for their dedication and success. He acknowledged their hard work and the honor they brought to the city through their participation and victories in the regional athletic competitions.
“Congratulations student-athletes for bringing recognition and pride to Angeles City,” Mayor Lazatin said during the ceremony. He emphasized the importance of youth development and sports in shaping discipline, teamwork, and perseverance among the city’s youth.
Angeles City athletes delivered a strong performance during the CLRAA meet, securing a total of 38 medals. Their medal haul included 12 golds, 15 silvers, and 11 bronzes, showcasing their competitiveness and commitment in various sports disciplines.
The local government expressed its continuous support for youth and sports programs, reiterating its commitment to nurturing athletic talents. Mayor Lazatin also hinted at further initiatives to enhance sports facilities and training opportunities in the city.
