Their presence underscored the importance of collaborative training in reducing risks and improving emergency readiness.
The Rescue Olympics featured hands-on challenges such as CPR demonstrations, proper bandaging, safe patient lifting and transport, and coordinated emergency response drills. These activities were designed to sharpen the abilities of participants and ensure they can respond effectively in real-life crises.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized that the safety of Angeleños remains a top priority of the city government. He highlighted the importance of having well-trained responders in schools and barangays, noting that the skills practiced during the competition can make a life-or-death difference during emergencies.
He encouraged the participants to continue improving their abilities and to support one another as partners in disaster preparedness. According to him, sustained practice and teamwork are essential in building a community that is ready to respond to any situation.
The ACDRRMO shared that the Rescue Olympics aligns with national disaster management goals under RA 10121. It forms part of Angeles City’s broader strategy to promote organized, safe, and climate-resilient communities through continuous training and education.
