Angeles City is taking proactive steps to combat mosquito-borne diseases as the Task Force Anti Dengue conducted a misting operation at the Pampang Public Market. The initiative, spearheaded under the instructions of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, aims to protect residents, vendors, and shoppers from dengue infections.
The misting targeted critical areas of the market, including vendor stalls, pedestrian pathways, drainage channels, and locations prone to water accumulation. These spots are known breeding grounds for mosquitoes, making them high-priority areas for preventive measures.
Mayor Jon Lazatin emphasized that the operation is part of the city’s ongoing health and sanitation programs. By regularly addressing mosquito proliferation in crowded areas, the local government hopes to significantly reduce dengue cases in the community.
The Angeles City LGU highlighted that misting alone is not enough to prevent dengue. Citizens are encouraged to practice proper waste management, participate in clean-up drives, and maintain dry surroundings to complement the city’s mosquito control measures.
Community involvement remains a crucial component of the city’s anti-dengue strategy. By working together, residents, vendors, and city personnel can help ensure that public spaces remain safe and healthy for all.
The Pampang Public Market was selected for the operation due to its high foot traffic and dense vendor layout. This initiative demonstrates the city’s commitment to addressing health concerns in locations where people gather daily.
Through consistent misting, public awareness campaigns, and community cooperation, Angeles City aims to strengthen its defense against dengue. Mayor Jon Lazatin reaffirmed that safeguarding public health remains a top priority for the local government.
