Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, in partnership with the Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO), has officially kicked off a major beautification project aimed at enhancing the city’s visual landscape and promoting cultural pride. The initiative was solidified with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the City Government and Davies Paints Philippines, a leading name in paint and coatings in the country.
As part of this partnership, Mayor Lazatin recently visited key locations in Angeles City that have been identified for revitalization. These include bridges, footbridges, rotondas, road markings, and other public spaces that will undergo repainting and redesign. The mayor’s hands-on approach highlights his commitment to creating a cleaner, more vibrant city.
One of the key features of the beautification program is the creation of culturally inspired wall murals. These artworks will reflect the rich history, heritage, and traditions of Angeles City, transforming public spaces into open-air galleries that celebrate Kapampangan identity. The murals aim to inspire residents and visitors alike while fostering a sense of community pride.
In addition to the murals, the city will repaint and refresh the columns of major bridges and footbridges, ensuring that these structures are not only safe but also visually appealing. The program also includes the repainting of road markings and concrete barriers using appropriate and color-coded schemes for safety and better traffic management.
The city’s main rotondas—which serve as central traffic points—will also receive a makeover. These often-overlooked spaces will be given new life through landscaping, lighting, and creative painting to make them welcoming landmarks for motorists and pedestrians.
According to Mayor Lazatin, this project is more than just a facelift. It is part of a larger campaign to promote tourism, instill discipline through well-maintained public spaces, and encourage civic responsibility among Angeleños. “A beautiful city reflects the spirit of its people,” the mayor said during the MOA signing.
With the support of Davies Paints and the collaborative effort of ACTO, the Angeles City LGU continues to move forward with sustainable and artistic urban development. As this beautification project rolls out, residents can expect not only a more colorful environment but also a stronger sense of identity and community pride.
