Angeles City Launches Cash and Rice Aid for Solo Parents

The distribution was led by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), headed by Francis De Guzman, who confirmed that the beneficiaries are all officially registered with the Solo Parents Affairs Office. He highlighted that these programs are specifically tailored to assist registered solo parents who face unique challenges in raising their families.

“Solo parents are deeply grateful because Mayor Lazatin has made sure that they are not forgotten. His administration continues to provide vital assistance,” said De Guzman. The cash assistance, combined with the rice subsidy, aims to help alleviate the financial strain faced by these parents.

Since Mayor Lazatin took office in 2019, the CSWDO has introduced a system for issuing IDs to registered solo parents, allowing them to easily access the support they are entitled to. This effort has helped streamline the process and ensure that those who need assistance are promptly identified and served.

In addition to the financial support, solo parents in the city also benefit from various livelihood programs, such as the Angeleño First Facemask livelihood project. This initiative has empowered many solo parents to start small businesses and generate income, improving their overall well-being.
