ANGELES CITY — The Angeles City Government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., kicked off its annual free circumcision campaign, dubbed “Magpatuli Para Pogi,” on May 26, 2025, at the Rural Health Unit III in Barangay Lourdes Sur East.
Mayor Lazatin personally visited the health center alongside Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles and City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra to oversee the launch of the program aimed at providing accessible health services to indigent children in the community.
The Rural Health Unit III serves several barangays, including Agapito Del Rosario, Claro M. Recto, Virgen Delos Remedios, Malabanias, and Sta. Teresita. The free circumcision campaign targets boys from these areas to ensure they receive safe and professional medical care.
Mayor Lazatin encouraged parents to bring their sons for the free procedure, emphasizing that all circumcisions are performed by skilled doctors and nurses. “I urge all parents to have their children circumcised here. The procedure is free and done by licensed professionals,” he said.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel added that every child undergoing circumcision receives an aftercare kit containing antibiotics, mefenamic acid, and betadine to ensure proper healing and prevent infection.
The operation is led by a team of 30 midwives, nurses, and doctors from the City Health Office (CHO) and Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC), ensuring safe and efficient service delivery.
This initiative reflects Mayor Lazatin’s commitment to accessible healthcare and community welfare, providing essential medical services to those who need them most in Angeles City.
