ANGELES CITY — The Local Government of Angeles City, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, proudly joined the Department of Education (DepEd) in the nationwide celebration of National Teachers’ Day 2025, held in honor of the invaluable contributions of Filipino educators.
To mark the occasion, the Angeles City LGU, in partnership with the City Schools Division Office, organized a heartfelt tribute to recognize the dedication, hard work, and sacrifices of teachers across public and private schools in the city. The event served as an opportunity to give back to the pillars of the education system.
In his message, Mayor Lazatin expressed his admiration for the teaching community, emphasizing that the development of the city begins with quality education — and at the heart of that are the teachers. He extended his gratitude for their tireless service, especially through the evolving challenges in the education sector.
Activities during the celebration included awarding of certificates of appreciation to exemplary teachers, cultural presentations by students, and messages of thanks from city officials and school administrators. Tokens of appreciation were also distributed to show the LGU’s support and recognition.
City Council members and key officials from the Angeles City Schools Division also took part in the event, showing their solidarity with the teaching community. The LGU reaffirmed its commitment to continuously supporting teacher development programs and improving local school facilities.
Mayor Lazatin further pledged to sustain and enhance education-centered programs in the city, including teacher training, student scholarship grants, and the continuous improvement of school infrastructure. “We will continue to invest in education because we believe our teachers and learners deserve only the best,” he said.
The celebration concluded with a symbolic tribute, reinforcing the message that teachers are not just educators, but nation-builders. Through this joint effort, the Angeles City LGU and DepEd highlighted the vital role teachers play in shaping the future — not only of their students, but of the entire community.
