Angeles City — Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II convened key city officials and barangay leaders on November 24, 2025, at the Mayor’s Office in Brgy. Pulung Maragul to discuss major upgrades to the city’s CCTV infrastructure. The meeting gathered members of the 20th City Council, barangay chairpersons, and representatives from the City Admin, City Tourism Office, City Legal Office, City Command Center, and the Angeles City Police Office.
The coordination meeting centered on innovations and improvements to CCTV systems across all barangays to strengthen the city’s overall surveillance network. Officials emphasized the importance of enhancing monitoring capabilities to support crime prevention and faster emergency response.
Mayor Lazatin highlighted that improving CCTV coverage is a crucial step toward ensuring community safety, noting that an upgraded system will allow authorities to detect incidents more efficiently and act swiftly when needed. He stressed that safety remains a top priority for the city government.
The City Command Center presented updates on existing security infrastructures and recommended enhancements, including modern cameras, better connectivity, and integrated monitoring features. These upgrades aim to create a more seamless and effective citywide security framework.
Representatives from the Angeles City Police Office also expressed strong support for the initiative, noting that enhanced CCTV systems will significantly aid in crime deterrence, case investigation, and the identification of potential safety risks within barangays.
Mayor Lazatin additionally underscored that improved security has a direct impact on local tourism, explaining that safe communities attract more visitors and boost sectors such as food, education, and wellness tourism. He affirmed that a secure environment is key to sustaining Angeles City’s growing tourism industry.
