ANGELES CITY — On behalf of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., City Treasurer Arneil Escolango received a ₱5 million cheque from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) – Angeles City Branch on May 28, 2025. The amount represents Angeles City’s monthly share from PAGCOR’s external funding sources for April 2025.
The turnover ceremony was held at the City Treasurer’s Office, highlighting the ongoing partnership between PAGCOR and the Angeles City Government. The funding is part of a regular financial support system provided by PAGCOR to local government units across the country.
Representing PAGCOR during the handover were A/Senior Human Resource Officer Marjorie Dela Cruz, Finance Officer II Marietta Clarita De Guzman, and A/Logistics Officer II Joy Edward Manalang. They affirmed PAGCOR’s continued support to Angeles City’s public service programs.
City Treasurer Escolango extended the city’s gratitude to PAGCOR, emphasizing that the financial aid will be used to enhance city projects, including public health, education, and social welfare initiatives. “This contribution is a significant help in sustaining our programs aimed at uplifting the lives of our constituents,” he said.
The monthly PAGCOR share is categorized under the city’s external income sources and is typically allocated to priority areas identified by the city government. These funds complement the city’s internally generated revenue to support ongoing services and developmental plans.
Mayor Lazatin, though not present during the turnover, conveyed his appreciation to PAGCOR through Escolango. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency and efficient use of all financial support received from national agencies.
The Angeles City Government has consistently worked to build strong collaborations with national institutions like PAGCOR to ensure sustainable growth and enhanced delivery of public services for Angeleños.
