Angeles City, November 3, 2025 – Under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, the Angeles City Government, through its City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), welcomed a learning delegation from San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. The visit aimed to exchange knowledge on effective programs for child welfare, anti-trafficking, and protection against violence targeting women and children.
The delegation comprised members of the Local Council for the Protection of Children–Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCPC–LCAT–VAWC), totaling 19 participants. They attended an orientation on Angeles City’s systems, initiatives, and best practices in promoting social welfare and safeguarding vulnerable groups.
CSWDO Angeles showcased its comprehensive programs that address child protection, community-based interventions, and preventive measures against trafficking. Participants learned about the office’s structured processes and strategies that have made Angeles City a model for responsive and inclusive social welfare services.
The delegation also toured various city facilities to observe the implementation of these programs firsthand. This allowed participants to gain practical insights on how welfare services are delivered efficiently while ensuring accessibility and safety for all beneficiaries.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the importance of knowledge-sharing among local governments. “By exchanging best practices, we strengthen our capacity to protect children and women, while building safer, more compassionate communities,” he said.
The visit highlighted Angeles City’s commitment to proactive social welfare initiatives, particularly in creating programs that empower children, women, and marginalized sectors. The city continues to prioritize a holistic approach that integrates prevention, protection, and community engagement.
Through such collaborations and shared learning, Angeles City maintains its vision of a safe, inclusive, and empowered community, while inspiring other local government units to adopt innovative and effective welfare practices.
