Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining public safety and peace during a key joint meeting on June 11, 2025. The Joint Second Quarter Meeting of the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC), Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC), and Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC) was held at the Command Center Conference Room.
Mayor Lazatin presided over the meeting, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts in keeping the city safe for all residents. He emphasized that sustaining peace and order remains a top priority, particularly as Angeles City continues to grow and develop.
Various departments and city offices involved in law enforcement and community safety presented their accomplishments, programs, and ongoing initiatives. These updates allowed the council to evaluate current strategies and determine areas for improvement to better serve the community.
Among those who joined Mayor Lazatin were DILG Angeles City Director Yvette Cosio and ABC President Danilo Nacu. Their presence helped strengthen collaboration between the city government and local barangay leaders in addressing peace and order concerns.
Also present were key representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), along with members of the City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict. These agencies provided insights into their respective contributions to maintaining public order and safety.
The meeting served as a platform for reaffirming partnerships between government agencies and the local government, especially in tackling critical issues such as illegal drugs, crime prevention, and insurgency. The open dialogue allowed for coordinated planning and faster response mechanisms to potential threats.
Mayor Lazatin concluded the session by thanking all stakeholders for their active role in ensuring the city remains peaceful and secure. He assured Angeleños that his administration will continue to implement programs and strategies that prioritize the safety and well-being of every resident.
