ANGELES CITY — Final preparations are underway for the highly anticipated 3rd Reyna de las Flores celebration on May 24, 2025, as Angeles City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Sugui led a coordination meeting on May 21 with barangay captains and their representatives to ensure the success of the event.
The meeting, held in line with the directive of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., focused on organizing key event logistics, including the parade route, program sequence, and each barangay’s assigned spot in the assembly area. The goal is to guarantee smooth execution and full participation from all communities across the city.
Reyna de las Flores, or “Queen of Flowers,” is an inter-barangay competition celebrating the grace, beauty, and poise of Angeleña representatives. The festival not only spotlights local talents but also fosters community pride through a vibrant and colorful cultural showcase.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who supervises the event committee, announced that the city government is offering a grand cash prize of ₱100,000 to this year’s winner. This generous award aims to encourage active participation and highlight the importance of community representation.
Adding to the excitement is the locally designed gown competition, a feature of the traditional Santacruzan parade that serves as the culminating event of the festival. Participants will wear custom gowns crafted by local designers, bringing attention to Angeles City’s flourishing fashion and creative industry.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized that Reyna de las Flores is more than just a beauty competition—it is a celebration of culture, creativity, and community spirit. He highlighted how the event supports the city’s flower industry and promotes local talent in fashion and design.
Also present during the coordination meeting was Persons with Disability Affairs Officer Ryan David, who expressed support for the inclusive and community-centered nature of the event. With everything set, the city is gearing up for another festive and meaningful celebration of tradition, beauty, and unity.
