Angeles City — With pride and determination, the men’s and women’s volleyball teams representing Angeles City in the upcoming 1st Delta Cup Inter-Town Volleyball League paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II. The athletes, together with their coaching staff and support team, expressed their commitment to bring honor to the city in this prestigious regional competition.
The visit was a show of unity and sportsmanship, as team members presented themselves to the mayor before heading into competition. Mayor Lazatin welcomed the delegation warmly, extending his full support to the teams and reminding them that their discipline and dedication reflect the city’s values and spirit.
Present during the visit were key city officials including OIC Angeles City Youth Development Office (ACYDO) head Arnoah Prince Mandani and Angeles City Sports Office (ACSO) head Rosver Verong Pascua. They expressed confidence in the teams’ readiness and highlighted the LGU’s continued commitment to youth development and sports excellence.
The coaching staff is led by Mr. Jonie Pangilinan, with Mr. Benjamin Angga heading the women’s team and Mr. Lordino Salonga guiding the men’s team. They are joined by medical staff Ms. Frances Ann Lacsamana and assistant coaches Mr. Teejay Due, Mr. Abel S. Nunag, and Mr. Noel Panlilio Jr. Their combined expertise and experience are expected to provide strong tactical support and athlete care during the tournament.
Also showing their strong support for the teams were members of the Angeles City Council who joined the courtesy call. Seen in the group photo were Councilors Pogs Suller, Jeselle Dayrit, Alex Indiongco, Raco Del Rosario, Edu Pamintuan, Niknok Bañola, and Ron Pineda — all wishing the teams the best of luck in their matches.
Mayor Lazatin reminded the athletes to always play with integrity, teamwork, and respect for the game. He noted that beyond the scores, it is their character and sportsmanship that will leave a lasting impression on and off the court. “You carry the pride of Angeles City. Represent us with heart,” the mayor said.
With the city behind them, the Angeles volleyball teams are set to compete with both strength and honor in the Delta Cup. The local government and the entire Angeleño community wish them success as they step onto the court, aiming to make their mark and bring home victory. Go Angeles!
