On March 26, 2025, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. recognized Eduardo Cunanan, a staff member of Barangay Sto. Rosario, for his exemplary act of honesty. Cunanan was awarded a certificate of commendation and a cash incentive for returning lost money to its rightful owner, reflecting the values of integrity and public service.
Mayor Lazatin personally handed Cunanan a ₱5,000 cash incentive as a reward for his honesty. The brief awarding ceremony was held at the Mayor’s Office, where Cunanan was commended for setting an inspiring example for fellow government employees and citizens alike.
“Simple acts of honesty like this deserve to be recognized,” Mayor Lazatin said. “Eduardo’s actions prove that integrity still thrives in our communities. He is a role model not just for public servants, but for all Angeleños.”
Also present during the awarding were Barangay Sto. Rosario Kagawad Joana Joy Flores and Barangay Secretary Garry Tapnio, who expressed their pride and support for Cunanan’s commendable behavior. They noted that his action reflects the core values of Barangay Sto. Rosario’s commitment to public trust.
Cunanan’s honest act has earned praise not only from city officials but also from residents who believe that recognizing good deeds encourages a culture of integrity and responsibility within local communities.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the city government’s goal of promoting honesty and ethical service among public workers. Rewarding acts of integrity, he said, helps strengthen public trust in government institutions and inspires more citizens to do the right thing.
Through this recognition, the city government once again reaffirms its commitment to upholding moral values in governance—celebrating those who serve with not just dedication, but with integrity and heart.
