ANGELES CITY — Joanne Marie Thornley, Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2023 First Runner-Up and Mutya Ning Angeles 2022 Grand Winner, paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on May 27, 2025, ahead of her participation in the prestigious Binibining Pilipinas 2025 pageant.
Thornley will represent the province of Pampanga in the national competition set for June 15, and her visit to the Mayor’s Office marks a show of unity and support from her hometown. The meeting highlighted not only her pageant journey but also her role in promoting local pride on a national stage.
Mayor Lazatin warmly welcomed Thornley and expressed his full support, urging Angeleños to rally behind her as she competes for the crown. “Joanne is a symbol of Kapampangan beauty, intelligence, and culture. We are proud to have her represent us,” the mayor said.
Accompanying Mayor Lazatin during the courtesy call were Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and Angeles City Tourism Officer Anneleen Sugui. The city officials extended their best wishes to Thornley, recognizing her efforts in bringing pride to Angeles City through pageantry.
Thornley shared her excitement and gratitude for the local government’s backing. She acknowledged how the support from her hometown has been a great motivation as she prepares for one of the biggest pageants in the country. “Angeles City has shaped me in many ways. I carry our community’s strength and spirit with me,” she said.
