Angeles City further enhanced its academic and research initiatives as the City College of Angeles (CCA) formalized its partnership with the Central Luzon Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development Consortium (CLIEERDEC). The agreement brings together national government agencies, state universities, and private higher education institutions under a unified goal of strengthening research and innovation in the region.
Representing the city government, Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin Jr., who also serves as Chairman of the CCA Board of Trustees, reaffirmed the city’s firm commitment to delivering accessible and industry-relevant education to Angeleño youth. He highlighted the role of research-based collaborations in preparing students for future professional demands.
Mayor Lazatin added that partnerships such as this ensure that educational programs remain aligned with evolving industry needs, enabling graduates to become competitive, skilled, and ready for the workforce. He emphasized that investing in research is essential to building a progressive and future-focused city.
CCA OIC-President Dr. Jenneth E. Sarmiento also shared her message of support, emphasizing the importance of the college’s active participation in regional research ventures. She noted that engagements of this scale open broader opportunities for both students and faculty members.
Dr. Sarmiento explained that collaborations with institutions under CLIEERDEC expand avenues for knowledge exchange, innovation-driven projects, and capacity-building programs that enrich academic training and community development initiatives.
This renewed partnership underscores Angeles City’s unwavering dedication to promoting academic excellence and strengthening its role in regional research advancement. By working closely with CLIEERDEC and its member institutions, the city continues to push forward initiatives that elevate educational standards and innovation.
Through this strengthened alliance, CCA reaffirms its mission to provide transformative education and contribute meaningfully to the development of the next generation of Angeleño professionals—equipped, empowered, and ready for the future.
