ANGELES CITY — Young culinary talents from the City College of Angeles (CCA) made their hometown proud after winning bronze medals in the 25th Philippine Culinary Cup, a premier national culinary competition held as part of the World Food Expo at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
CCA’s Biencaster Santos, Giselle Pangilinan, and Angelo July Bautista—students of the Bachelor of Vocational Teacher Education (BVTED) Program—stood out in the intense competition, besting participants from top culinary institutions and renowned hotels from both the Philippines and abroad.
Guided by their coach and mentor, Ms. Criselda Arcilla, the student-chefs showcased their creativity, technical skills, and culinary discipline in a competitive environment judged by international culinary experts. Their winning entries were praised for their innovation, presentation, and adherence to global standards.
The Philippine Culinary Cup is recognized as one of the most prestigious culinary competitions in the country, attracting top-tier talent from across the globe. Winning a medal in this event marks a significant achievement for any aspiring chef or culinary student.
Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II lauded the students for bringing honor to Angeles City and praised the CCA for continuously developing world-class talents in the field of culinary arts. “This victory is not just for the students, but for the entire city,” he said.
CCA President Dr. Richard Daenos also congratulated the team, calling the win a testament to the school’s dedication to excellence in technical-vocational education. He added that the achievement inspires more CCA students to pursue their passions with dedication and purpose.
As the city continues to celebrate this milestone, the triumph of these young Angeleños serves as a shining example of how local talents can compete and shine on national and international stages—with hard work, mentorship, and unwavering support from the community.
