The Angeles City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) recently held an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) session at SM City Clark to strengthen community awareness and participation in proper waste management. The event gathered mallgoers, residents, and stakeholders to highlight the city’s commitment to environmental protection.
This initiative forms part of Mayor Jon Lazatin’s continuous campaign for a cleaner and more sustainable Angeles City. The program focuses on educating the public about environmental policies and encouraging active involvement in maintaining cleanliness.
Participants were taught proper waste segregation practices, such as correctly sorting biodegradable, recyclable, and residual waste. CENRO also reiterated the importance of complying with local waste disposal ordinances to ensure a more efficient waste management system.
SM City Clark remains a strong partner in the city’s ecological initiatives. It provides an e-waste collection area where the public can safely dispose of old or unused electronic devices.
The mall likewise continues its “Trash to Cash” program, which offers cash incentives in exchange for recyclable materials. This helps reduce waste and supports local recycling efforts.
The partnership between CENRO, the Angeles City government, and SM City Clark reflects a shared commitment to environmental preservation. Through public awareness and accessible waste disposal programs, the city aims to enhance community responsibility toward the environment.
The local government encourages all Angeleños to stay informed, practice proper waste disposal, and take part in efforts to keep the environment clean and sustainable for future generations.
