Officials from the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), headed by President and CEO Joseph Alcazar, paid a courtesy visit to Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II to discuss ongoing development initiatives, particularly focused on environmental responsibility.
Joining Alcazar were members of the CIAC Board of Directors and key figures from their management team. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from Schema, the consulting firm currently working on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Metro Clark area.
The meeting aimed to foster collaboration between CIAC and the local government of Angeles City, especially on sustainable infrastructure projects that may impact surrounding communities. Mayor Lazatin welcomed the team and expressed the city’s readiness to support responsible and eco-conscious development.
President Alcazar emphasized CIAC’s commitment to transparency and community involvement in all stages of the airport’s development. He noted that the EIA process is a crucial step in ensuring that future projects align with both environmental standards and public interest.
Schema, the consultant conducting the assessment, provided updates and technical insights on the evaluation process. Their work involves analyzing potential environmental effects of upcoming infrastructure improvements and expansion plans in the Metro Clark area.
Mayor Lazatin, a long-time advocate for sustainable development, commended the CIAC leadership for prioritizing environmental considerations. He also underscored the importance of open communication between developers and local government units to ensure community welfare.
