ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Twenty-two families affected by a fire in Barangay San Jose received financial aid from the city government on June 18, 2025, as part of continued relief efforts led by Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr.
Secretary to the Mayor, Raffy Lazatin Angeles, personally handed over the assistance on behalf of Mayor Lazatin. He was accompanied by City Social Welfare and Development Officer (CSWDO) Francis De Guzman during the distribution.
The fire incident, which occurred last February, left families displaced and in need of urgent support. The CSWDO quickly responded under Mayor Lazatin’s directive by providing initial emergency assistance, including food packs, hygiene kits, sleeping mats (banigs), and blankets.
This latest financial aid is part of the city’s continuing commitment to help residents recover from unforeseen disasters. Mayor Lazatin emphasized that the city will always extend a helping hand to those in crisis, assuring victims that they are never alone in times of hardship.
“During emergencies like this, we want our people to feel the presence and support of their local government,” Mayor Lazatin said. “We are here to provide what we can to help our fellow Angeleños get back on their feet.”
The city government has long maintained a quick-response protocol through the CSWDO to ensure that affected families receive immediate assistance, followed by sustainable support such as financial aid and rehabilitation programs.
This initiative is in line with Mayor Lazatin’s governance approach — prioritizing inclusive, compassionate service and ensuring that even the most vulnerable sectors of the community receive the help they need in times of crisis.
