Angeles City, Pampanga — The Angeles City Veterinary Office continues its commitment to animal welfare and public health with another round of free anti-rabies vaccination. This time, the team is heading to Sitio Target, Barangay Sapang Bato on August 20, 2025 (Wednesday), from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, to administer vaccines to household pets.
This initiative is part of the city’s ongoing rabies prevention and control program under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II. The program aims not only to safeguard pets but also to protect residents from the dangers of rabies, which remains a serious public health threat.
All pet owners in the area are encouraged to bring their dogs and cats to the designated location. For those who already have pet health cards issued during previous vaccination drives, they are reminded to bring them along. New pet owners or those without existing records need not worry, as veterinary staff will issue health cards on-site.
The city’s veterinary team assures that the procedure will be quick, safe, and efficient, handled by licensed professionals. They also emphasized the importance of annual rabies vaccination, which is mandated by law and essential in keeping both pets and humans safe.
According to the City Veterinary Office, rabies is 100% preventable through timely vaccination. By bringing services directly into the barangays, the city aims to reach more pet owners — especially in remote or underserved areas like Sitio Target.
In previous years, Angeles City has maintained a strong track record in its anti-rabies campaigns, earning praise for its proactive and inclusive approach. This drive is expected to cover hundreds of pets in the area and will be followed by similar activities in other barangays.
Officials urge residents to stay tuned to the city’s official channels for the announcement of future vaccination schedules in nearby communities. The goal is clear: to keep Angeles City rabies-free, one vaccinated pet at a time.
